Similar to topics like Isometric projection and perspective, oblique is a 3D representation of an object. It is the least lifelike appearing representation because of how the drawing is set up but still gives us a relatively good idea.
The front face of an object is drawn as its true shape and the corners are projected backwards as edges at 45 degrees. This means that objects drawing in oblique are generally uniform in shape (they remain the same through out the piece). |
